There are two fundamental purposes of testing, verifying procurement specifications and managing risk. One needs to clarify the purpose of the test and the data you will require from it, looking at factors that may affect the choice of the test as well as available resources and keeping the relevant regulatory and contractual requirements in mind.

Having a test procedure at hand to make sure the testing goes according to the plan. Collect the record data from the test using different methods to collect test results. Test documentation is the complete suite of artifacts that describe test planning, test design, test execution, test results and conclusions drawn from the testing activity. Testing activities must therefore be fully documented to support resource allocation, monitoring and control.
