A broad introduction to and awareness of HIV/AIDS in the workplace. The focus is knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes in relation to the learner`s own experience in the work environment. Reasons why it is almost impossible to be infected with HIV at the workplace other than in exceptional circumstances when universal safety precautions are not followed.

Guidelines and assistance available to support workers with HIV/AIDS and are encouraged to recognise their role in creating a caring work environment. Gaining insight into the implications of the HIV/AIDS pandemic for society, the economy, and business – including their own workplace.
