A team is any group of people organised to work together interdependently and cooperatively to meet the needs of their customers by accomplishing a purpose and goals. Before you begin to assemble a team to address the problem, you need to plan your approach. This means thinking about who will be on the team, what your time frame is, and what resources you will need to address the problem at hand. Using a group to solve a problem also has advantages and disadvantages.

Many teams do not have clear objectives. Often, it is assumed that team members know the purpose of the team and what the team is trying to achieve. Having a clear sense of direction is one of the most crucial factors to create an effective team.
